Where: Villamore Emerald Palace Kempinski, The Palm, Dubai
The Low Down: There’s no doubt Emerald Palace Kempinski’s newest culinary venue, the Mediterranean Villamore restaurant, is going to become a classy hot spot. With incredible sea views, delicacies straight from the sea, and a serene setting it will make you believe you’re on a glamorous Riviera holiday.
Villamore complements the marvellous shores of the Arabian Gulf with its beach chalet-style décor in hues of blue, white, and yellow, perfectly emulating a lavish European getaway. The beachside restaurant also boasts the most picturesque views of Dubai’s skyline, shining on iconic landmarks including Atlantis, Burj Al Arab and the Marina. Its rooftop also offers a prime view of the sunset. Golden-hour Instagram shots, anyone?
With a heavy culinary influence from Italy, France and Spain, the restaurant offers the most authentic dining experience when it comes to seafood. Begin your journey at the walk-in private Antipasti Room where various halal cured meats and tapas tasters are on offer. Starters on the menu illustrate seasonal and fresh local ingredients including the succulent Dibba oysters. In true Mediterranean style, no menu would be complete without a decadent spaghetti vongole with freshly sourced clams, garlic and olive oil. For those wanting to share, we suggest opting for the whole sea bass cooked in salt crust. Not a seafood lover? Fear not, the porterhouse steak is also impressive.
Recommended dishes: Dibba oysters, imperial caviar, and the spaghetti vongole.
Dress code: Smart casual.
Vogue Verdict: For delicious seafood, the best panoramic views of the emirate and a beach venue that is chic, Villamore is unrivalled.
