Last night marked the launch of the Vogue x Amber Fashion Weekend festivities with a private dinner at Bagatelle in Dubai, welcoming friends of Vogue Arabia, Olivia Palermo, and Banana Republic. The gathering marked the unique collaboration between Vogue and the Al Tayer Group to celebrate 10 years of the Amber loyalty program. The Vogue x Amber Fashion Weekend, which runs September 14 and 15, plays host to more than 75 bespoke experiences across 30 retail brands at The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. More than 40 guests joined Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief, Manuel Arnaut, and Olivia Palermo at Bagatelle to celebrate the opening of the Vogue X Amber Fashion Weekend. Guests included HH Sheikha Fatima Al-Qassimi; the Portuguese ambassador to the UAE, Joaquim Lemos; designers Rami Al Ali, Faissal El Malak, Khulood Thani, and Nadine Kanso; model Farnoush Hamidian; Fashion Forward’s Bong Guerrero; and digital style influencers including Anum Bashir, Nour Arida, Karen Wazen, Rosemin Manji, and more. Speaking about the evening’s success, Arnaut said: “It was truly a beautiful night and a great way to kick off our Vogue X Amber Fashion Weekend. It was a pleasure to host Olivia and welcome her to Dubai.”

International It girl, model, designer, and Banana Republic brand ambassador Olivia Palermo was the guest of honor at last night’s Vogue dinner. At Banana Republic, Palermo took to the designer’s drawing board to create her debut collection. The collection is now available at Banana Republic’s flagship store in The Dubai Mall as part of the exclusive Vogue X Amber event. The first 50 customers at the Olivia Palermo X Banana Republic collection will get to meet Palermo for a signing tonight when the star visits the store. Well suited for the transition from summer’s high heat to a balmy winter, the Fall 2017 offering is punctuated with military-inspired outerwear, tailored key pieces, feminine blouses, and classic wardrobe staples all bearing Palermo’s style signature.
So, what is her favorite piece? “I just have so many,” Palermo told Vogue Arabia. “But we have some great statement coats and trenches, as well as a pair of really pretty green leather pants and some faux snakeskin pieces.”
