Foodies, take note: brunch is officially the new lunch. Switch up your culture schedule to factor in a chichi après breakfast, pre-luncheon meal with friends and family at the weekend in one of these seven cool, urban eateries dotted across Riyadh, Kuwait, Beirut, and beyond. They are all Vogue tried-and-trusted. Book now, thank us later.

Gia, Kuwait

3 St. 6 Ln, Salmiya, Kuwait. Booking not necessary. Dress code: casual.

This buzzing hotspot that opened on the outskirts of Salmiya has expanded to a Kuwait City location. The sun-washed atmosphere, complete with withered tiled-floors and cascading vines, is unlike your average brunch spot. Its menu of health-conscious dishes and cheat-day options makes this place a top choice to spend a late Saturday morning. Indulge in coconut milk-soaked chia seed pudding, yogurt and honey granola bowls, and whipped cream cheese and avocados sandwiched between wholegrain black sesame seed bagels. The salted caramel French toast and old-fashioned waffles topped with fresh fruit and drizzled with syrup are worthy of an aerial Instagram post.

The Restaurant at Address, Dubai

The Address Boulevard, Downtown Dubai. Booking not necessary. Dress code: Smart casual

Designed to look like a 1920’s European apartment— with a kitchen, living room, games room, and a library (there’s even a secret hidden room behind the wall-to-wall bookshelves that can accommodate a party of four)— The Restaurant at Address is anything but basic. Now for the first time, the unique culinary spot has rolled out a new, French Riviera-inspired brunch. Featuring authentic Mediterranean cold and warm dishes, such as Pissaladiere, a dish that originates from Nice, Bouillabaisse – a traditional Provençal fish stew from the port city of Marseille, Salade Nicoise, and Petits Farcis served to the soundtrack of a live French band, each dish is sure to satiate your taste-buds. Just make sure you save enough appetite for dessert. The Restaurant offers a mouth-watering selection of over 50 pastries, cheeses, and tartes to be enjoyed.

Urbanista, Beirut

The All Quinoa Salad at Urbanista, Beirut

Yanni Building, Gouraud Street, Beirut, Lebanon. Booking not necessary. Dress code: casual.

Since its opening in 2012, Urbanista has been the go-to spot for healthy, organic food, and premium blends of Amsterdam-roasted coffee in Downtown Beirut and in the Digital District. With a high energy buzz that ebbs and flows throughout its 7am to midnight opening hours, it checks the boxes for around-the-clock meals and serves as the urban rendezvous spot in town. Top of the must-try list from this guilt-free menu? The Urba rolls, all quinoa salad, and chicken quesadillas – hearty dishes but light on the palate, perfect for speedy lunch dates.

La Cucina, Riyadh

Whether you’re looking for a family place, or a cool hangout to meet up with friends, La Cucina is Riyadhers’ go-to spot for a weekend brunch. Nestled inside Al Faisaliah Hotel on King Fahad Road, the restaurant offers an Italian-style buffet with dishes such as truffle pizza and fresh pasta (the pesto pasta is not to miss), available on weekends from 12-4pm. When you’re done enjoying your brunch, you can swing by the mall or visit the luxurious spa (located only steps away inside the hotel) for the ultimate relaxing weekend.

Roberto’s, Dubai

Gate Village, Building No. 1, DIFC, Dubai. Check for availability first. Dress code: smart casual.

A longtime favorite spot for Italian food in Dubai, Roberto’s recently launched its Andiamo Brunch, available every Friday from noon until 4pm. Inspired by the Mediterranean fare of the Italian Riviera and the Amalfi Coast, the special menu includes a selection of seafood such as oysters and king crab, and dishes such as veal milanese with melted mozzarella and lobster-zucchini ravioli. Top marks go to the delicious grilled tomahawk steak with mixed vegetables and roasted potato, and the homemade gelato, which you can enjoy on the outdoors terrace on a balmy afternoon.

El Chiringuito, Dubai

Rixos, The Palm, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Check for availability first. Dress code: smart casual.

Located on the end of Palm Jumeirah’s Crescent, El Chiringuito, which only opened in December, is a restaurant cum beach club transplanted from Ibiza. Befitting the party-central atmosphere of the Spanish island, the hot spot attracts a young and beautiful crowd, especially on Saturdays, when it offers its La Familia brunch. There’s no better place to let down your guard and hang out by the pool while enjoying the live DJ set after a hearty meal of tuna tartare, quinoa salad, or seafood paella.

Kalei, Beirut

Just off Qobayat Street, Beirut, Lebanon. Booking not necessary. Dress code: casual.

Nestled in the Geitawi district, this roasting house-meets-coffee pit stop and eatery is set in a 1950s Lebanese house framed by heritage trees in its front garden. With its initiative for direct trade with coffee bean farmers, the house blends are refined for the cultivated coffee enthusiast. The farm-to-table menu has multiple temptations, including an array of seasonal dishes, savory treats, and, of course, fresh cakes.
