After the recent long weekend which took place in honor of the Islamic New Year, it looks like residents of the United Arab Emirates have one more three-day long break to look forward to.
According to reports, the next long weekend in the UAE will take place two months from now, in September. The occasion: Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi this year will fall on a Friday, that is September 29, 2023. And if you happen to have Saturdays and Sundays off, this means you can begin planning a quick getaway for three days of uninterrupted relaxation. It is important to note, however, that no official confirmation has been made for the same as yet. UAE authorities are likely to announce the day off closer to the time.
How many more official holidays can you look forward to in 2023?
While last-minute holiday announcements are always welcome, it does pay to know your break days in advance if you like planning holidays perfectly, and if you prefer to save on impromptu flight tickets or hotel bookings. According to UAE BARQ, we have one more long weekend to look forward to later this year, on occasion of UAE National Day. While December 2 and 3 will fall on Saturday and Sunday this year, the preceding Friday will also be given off in honor of Commemoration Day (also known as Martyrs’ Day). The next long weekend after that will happen just about a month later: January 1, which is a Monday, will be a holiday for all, kickstarting 2024 on a happy note.
