You Can Now Pick a Logo to Represent the UAE While Doing Your Bit for the Environment

The UAE’s leaders HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, recently called on the country’s residents and people around the world to come together and choose a logo to represent the UAE. The Ruler of Dubai took to Twitter to make the announcement, urging everyone to cast their vote as well as do their part for the environment. He wrote, “We are launching a new brand for the UAE to share the story of our nation with the rest of the world. We invite everyone to be part of choosing the logo that will represent our country for the next 50 years on . For every vote, we will plant a tree.”

With a promise to plant one tree per vote, the leaders are determined to start the next 50 years of the UAE right. The logo will serve as the prime design for everything starting from tourism to marketing. “I invite everyone to take part in choosing the UAE Nation Brand logo that will be the symbol of a nation that strives to be the best in the world,” tweeted Sheikh Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. A total of 49 Emirati artisans from different emirates submitted designs, with only three making it to this stage.

“Everyone contributed to our country’s success story, and we invite everyone to be part of choosing the best logo that represents our story. The UAE is approaching a new phase that requires us to connect with the world differently. The UAE Nation Brand will share our inspiring story with the rest of the world,” wrote Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “The UAE’s development experience has inspired and continues to inspire, millions across the world. Involving the public across the world in choosing the logo that represents the UAE is, therefore, an important step,” Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan added.

The final selection of the three logos had been based on the country’s values, namely tolerance, credibility, humility, giving, openness, innovation and futuristic vision. The three options to choose from are ‘7 Lines’, ‘The Palm’ and ‘Calligraphy’. On December 14, HH Sheikh Mohammed also announced the initiative, ‘2020: Towards the next 50’ on Twitter. He wrote, “We shall develop our plans and projects and reinvent new ideas. 50 years ago, the founding fathers shaped our life today, and next year, we will shape the coming five decades for the future generations.”
