Tom Holland and Zendaya are arguably one of the most talk-about couples of their generation, despite the fact that they have been tight-lipped about their relationship. Given that they make headlines solely for being spotted together—from going to an Usher concert to taking a stroll around the city—the pair continues to remain protective of their personal lives.
However, recently, Holland gave a rare insight into their relationship in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter for the premiere of his latest project, The Crowded Room.
“Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers,” he said. The 27-year-old also talked about how the two have extremely busy schedules, which is why Zendaya could not attend his premiere, a fact that he seems to be more than understanding about. Diving deeper into what their relationship is like, Holland also mentioned that the couple enjoy more private activities, such as golf: “I’ve given her a few lessons. She’s very naturally talented, a real athlete, so she picked it up really quickly.”
In another interview with Buzzfeed, the star admitted that Zendaya is an avid meme consumer, something that she shares with him all the time. “She sends me too much, it’s like, I can’t keep up! I delete my Instagram for days at a time. I download it to post and then I have to check my messages, and I’ll have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of things from her.”
The interview also had a more heartwarming moment, which is currently going viral on social media. When asked whether he has any “rizz” – a Gen Z slang for charisma, Holland’s answer alluded to his love for the Euphoria star. “I have no rizz whatsoever, I have limited rizz. I need you to fall in love with me, really, for it to work. So, long game.” Referring to working together on the Spider-Man trilogy, he said, “Probably making a movie with each other — it definitely helps when the characters are falling in love with one another, you can sort of blur the lines a little bit. That’s kind of where my rizz is at. And, you know, I’m locked up. I’m happy and in love so I’ve got no need for rizz.”
