Highly-anticipated by not just Americans, but music-lovers all over the world, the Super Bowl halftime show this year did not disappoint. Not only did Latina superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira bring the party to the American football game, nearly breaking the internet with their power-packed performances and dazzling ensembles, but they also made a spectacular display of Latin pride. Read on to get caught up with some of the most memorable moments of the Super Bowl 2020 Halftime Show.

1. Shakira’s high-octane comeback

The Colombian songstress opened the show, immediately ramping up the energy at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida with a medley of her chart-topping hits like She Wolf, Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don’t Lie. The newly-minted 43-year-old (she celebrated her birthday on February 2) also brought back her signature belly-dancing moves before serving a throwback to her rockstar days by wielding a glittering electric guitar for her 2014 single Empire.

2. Special appearances by Bad Bunny and J Balvin

Cameos were made by both, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and Columbian reggaeton singer J Balvin who showed up halfway through Shakira and Lopez’s sets, surprising fans. While Bad Bunny accompanied Shakira for her cover of Cardi B’s 2018 hit I Like It which originally features Bad Bunny himself, Lopez shared the stage with J Balvin to get the crowd grooving to the Latino singer’s hit song Mi Gente.

3. Jennifer Lopez’s sartorial shout-out to Puerto Rico

Besides belting out her hit songs like Waiting For Tonight, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, On the Floor and Let’s Get Loud, Lopez made multiple fashion statements by pulling off four outfit changes on stage flawlessly. After moving from one sparkling Versace outfit to another, Lopez landed on her second-to-last ensemble of the night paying homage to her Puerto Rican heritage and the two countries which are close to her heart. The 50-year-old appeared wrapped in a feathered cape at first featuring the colors of the American flag on the outside and later lifted her arms to reveal the Puerto Rican flag on the inside.

4. Jennifer Lopez sharing the stage with her daughter

The high-energy Super Bowl halftime show didn’t fail to deliver a heartwarming moment with Lopez’s 11-year old daughter with Marc Anthony taking the stage to have a special performance of her own. Emme Anthony joined Lopez and Shakira towards the end of their 14-minute performance to sing a slowed-down rendition of her mother’s song Let’s Get Loud along with a choir of children. The mother and daughter duo later came together to sing side by side as Shakira played the drums.
