Citizens of Saudi Arabia will beautify public places and spheres in the capital city, as a part of the “Beautifying Riyadh’s Murals” events launched by Riyadh Municipality on April 10.

Under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the events will raise awareness amongst the citizens about the beautification of the city, public ethics, and responsibility toward public places. As stated by the government, the project aims to “significantly improve the lives of its citizens, transform the city into an attractive destination and make it one of the world’s most livable cities.”

In two phases, the events will bring about the participation of famous Saudi artists to create graffiti and street art across the city. After the removal of distorted scriptures from the walls by volunteers, they would be then painted over with murals by the artists.

Elsewhere, in Sakaka city, the campaign for beautifying the Makkah Road has been started by The Committee of Fine Arts and Arab Calligraphy. Artists from Al-Jouf will part a large mural as part of the agreement signed with Al-Jouf municipality and the Saudi Arabia Society for Culture and Art.
