Just off the red carpet where she donned a Valentino mini-dress, Tunisian-French Sonia Ammar can hardly believe she was photographed alongside Scream‘s leading cast—Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette. “It felt honestly very surreal,” Ammar tells Vogue Arabia of her first major silver screen experience. “This is such a big franchise, and I literally grew up watching it since I was a little girl. I even remember dressing up as Ghostface for Halloween when I was little,” she reminisces.

25-year old Ammar started her public life as an influencer (with over 750K followers) and model, working with Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, Carolina Herrera, and Chanel. Her role in Scream might be the breakout acting role for the daughter of film producer Tarek Ben Ammar. To prepare, she recalls she “rewatched every film (laughing) like a hundred times.” “I rewatched every interview and really got into my character. It’s funny, I actually read the script so many times and knew everyone else’s scenes by heart. This was an ongoing joke on-set.” Rather than feeling intimidated by the star-studded cast, she welcomed the experience with an open, inquisitive mind. “What I really appreciated from the original cast members was that we all looked up to them and they influenced us. For me, Scream was my childhood, so I was a fan of all of them. They made us feel a part of the family. They taught us to really have fun with it. I think that was the biggest thing. To enjoy the process and have the best time with it, and that’s exactly what we did.”
