Where do you write your songs?

I write my songs everywhere, but the [place] that most inspires me for some weird reason is on the plane. My songs usually come from an experience. I build up on it with my imagination but the core of it is always an experience.

Favorite fan moment?

I think of little things, like when a fan writes to me and says that they named their daughter after me. I think that’s very touching. Also, the yearly videos they do and the gifts they send on my birthday and the way they always manage to know everything I’m doing even when I try to hide it.

Secret hobby?

Probably makeup. I think that if I [didn’t go into singing] I’d probably be a makeup artist. I learned to do it all on my own.
