Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai surprised nine lucky couples on their mass wedding at Dubai’s Love Lake in Al Qudra last Thursday, March 14.
The mass wedding of nine Chinese couples was organized by Meraas, Dubai Holding and Hala China as part of strengthening trade, tourism and cultural ties between the UAE and China. The venue for this occasion was aptly chosen as the heart-shaped lakes of Qudra, named the Love Lake which made it the first time for an exclusive private event to be held on the islands. “The glamorous knot-tying occasion saw the serene lakes near Al Qudra transformed into a picturesque landscape for the culturally curious couples who wanted to hold their wedding ceremony amid the sprawling tranquillity of Dubai’s undulating sand dunes,” said the Dubai Media Office in a statement.
Sheikh Mohammed, who was passing by the venue with his team, decided to attend the wedding as a surprise VIP guest much to the couples’ delight who excitedly greeted the ruler in Mandarin.
