HH Sheikh Mohammed Allocates AED 150 Million To Support Influencers in the UAE

For HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, few things are as important as ensuring the brightest future for Dubai. And keeping this thought in mind, the royal has allocated AED 150 Million towards influencers in the UAE.

Along with the monetary support for content creators and influencers in the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed has also announced that a permanent headquarters will soon be created specifically for such creatives. “Today we issued directives to allocate a fund valued at AED 150 million to support content creators and transform the digital media sector,” his official statement revealed. “We also instructed the establishment of a permanent influencers’ headquarters that provides year-round support.” The new headquarters will be built in collaboration between the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy.

The reasoning behind this decision is linked with sharing positive messages about the UAE with the world, further strengthening the country’s position among travelers and the business community. “These steps align with our ongoing investment in creative talents who will write new inspiring stories that will add to the UAE’s influential media presence on the global stage,” the statement explained. “Impactful media reflects the past and provides an inspiration for the future.”

Along with attracting more influencers in the UAE, the investment will also be used to support budding content creators and help them grow to their fullest capacity. According to Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, “The fund is dedicated to support content creators [and] presents exceptional opportunities for them to fulfil their potential, grow their business and showcase the accomplishments and ambitions of the Emirati people to the world. These efforts will solidify the UAE’s position as a global capital for digital content.”

The impact of social media is, of course, incredibly strong, and the recent 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai serves as proof. Held this week at Emirates Towers and Dubai’s Museum of the Future, the two-day event brought together some of the world’s biggest social media influencers and content creators, along with close to 3,000 guests, 100 speakers, and more than 300 companies from the social media and technology industry.
