The finale of the Gov Games 2019 saw 12 public sector teams battling for the top spot at Kite Beach on Saturday, April 6. Emerging victorious was Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s F3 team in both men’s and women’s segments for the second year in a row.
Sheikh Hamdan led the men’s team as they participated in the physical challenge named “Battleship” which was an obstacle course designed to test which team would cross it in the least amount of time. The F3 women’s team beat Team Dewa and Dubai Airports while the men’s team beat the teams representing the Abu Dhabi Police and the Dubai Police.
The Crown Prince took to social media to express his happiness on the win as he shared an image of the winning teams along with an adorable photo of him embracing a spectator. Captioning the post he wrote, “Teamwork, training and determination is the best combination for winning. Great performance from both the men’s and women’s teams.”
The Dh3 million prize was split between the winners with the F3 men’s and women’s teams taking home Dh 1 million each and the runner-ups and second runner-ups winning prizes of Dh300,000 and Dh200,000, respectively. The prizes were distributed by Sheikh Hamdan and Shaikha Latifa Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairwoman of Dubai Culture.
