Following the premiere of her cooking show, Selena + Chef on HBO Max earlier this month, singer and actress Selena Gomez has now delved deeper into the world of food, becoming the latest investor in the famed, New York City-based restaurant and ice-cream company, Serendipity3. A fitting investment on the singer’s part, given her new single with Blackpink titled “Ice Cream,” is only days away from being released, Gomez took to Instagram yesterday to announce the sweet news.
Alongside a video of the singer who appears to be on set for the filming of the Ice Cream music video, Gomez writes, “I grew up going to the iconic @serendipity3nyc restaurant so I couldn’t be more excited to join the ownership team.” “In honor of the release of Ice Cream with @blackpinkofficial, I created Cookies and Cream Remix… made with pink vanilla ice cream as a nod to the girls,” she concludes. In the video, Gomez elaborates on her bespoke flavor, saying “This is my flavor at Serendipity, it’s called Cookies and Cream Remix.” “That’s me [on the box],” she continues, before going on to expand on each flavor. “It has pink vanilla ice cream, with thick fudge swirl and brown cream-filled cookie pieces. So basically, it’s heaven, and every bite is delicious.”
Gomez might have hinted at the collaboration earlier in the month after giving fans a peek into her freezer, which was stocked to the brim with ice cream from the brand. “This is my refrigerator-freezer situation,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram Reels. Gesturing to her shelf of ice cream, she continued “This is where I am at most of the time.” Available both online at serendipitybrands.com, as well as in grocery stores, convenience stores, and other food retailers, the Cookies and Cream Remix flavor will be available from August 28 and will retail at $5.99 USD.
Known for its frozen hot chocolate and decadently delicious desserts, Serendipity Ice Cream is affiliated with the famous New York restaurant, Serendipity3. Founded in 1954, the restaurant has previously served as a boutique, specializing in one-of-a-kind fashion and artistic items, and has also been featured in a number of films, including the 2001 romantic comedy, Serendipity.
