Selena Gomez recently sat down for an interview with Puma posted on Thursday, May 7 to talk about her latest collection with the brand as well as life in quarantine.
“Like everyone else, I am feeling unsettled and going through a variety of emotions during this time. For that reason, I think it’s important to stay informed and be aware of the latest news, but also take breaks from it because it can be overwhelming,” she when asked how she’s staying calm. “Reading and listening to music have been a huge factor in keeping me calm.” Gomez also talked about her puppy Daisy on what recently made her happy: “When I recently got my new puppy, Daisy! My friends always know how to cheer me up and make me laugh when I feel down.”
Gomez added that she’s currently quarantined with her grandparents and a couple of friends at her home in Los Angeles, and has been spending her time “re-watching things from when I was younger because it brings back a nostalgic feeling.” “I also recommend watching old episodes of SNL to make you laugh and escape the heaviness of what is happening. I am also loving Good Girls, Ozark, The Morning Show, and I think I’ve watched The Invisible Man like 15 times,” she added about what’s keeping her entertained at this time. She has also been dabbling in painting with watercolors and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. The multi-platinum singer has recently announced her quarantine cooking series to be released on May 27 on soon-to-be launched streaming platform – HBO Max.
The 27-year award-winning singer is also spending her time working on new music. “Before the stay at home ordinance, I was working in the studio. I didn’t want to lose that feeling of inspiration, so I am constantly writing ideas and lyrics down for songs in my journals,” she said. Gomez also recently set up a home studio to continue working on her music while being at home.
Gomez said that she’s been trying to stay social and that being away from friends and family has been “one of the most difficult parts” of the quarantine. Even though being stuck at home has put a bit of a damper on some of Gomez’s work, she’s been pursuing her passion in music with the kind of determination that Gomez is very well known for. Adding one last message for her fans, she said, “Please stay home! I know you have heard that so many times, but it’s truly going to take all of us sacrificing together to beat this horrible virus.”
