From June 2018 women in Saudi Arabia will legally be able to drive for the first time. Moments after the country’s Foreign Ministry officially announced the historic royal decree allowing women in the Kingdom to get behind the wheel social media was filled with must-click hashtags, including #SaudiWomenCanDrive, and on-point posts bearing #SaudiArabia. The message of jubilation resonated across the region, with the applause taking over Instagram and the internet. And it’s still on-going weeks later.
