September 1 marked five years since Rym Saidi and Wissam Breidy tied the knot in a stunning wedding reception in Lebanon. The couple officially wed in a civil marriage ceremony first in Milan, Italy, which is Saidi’s adopted home, and later flew to Beirut for a lavish celebration at Chateau Rweiss.
For the big day, the Tunisian model and actor tapped Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika for a bespoke wedding dress. “I am a very simple person and love elegance. This is what I see in Georges Hobeika’s designs,” Saidi had shared with Vogue Arabia at the time. “I already had prior experience wearing some of his gorgeous designs and was so happy to create my wedding gown with a phenomenal designer that I stylistically connect with,” she said. The Andalusian nights-inspired gown took approximately three months to create and featured transparent sequins and colored oval beads on white silk tulle. While the dress was made in a flattering mermaid silhouette, it came with a floor-grazing hooded cape fully embroidered in crystals, multi-colored beads, and thousands of silk organza, laser cut flowers. The wedding was attended by 1,200 guests, who were treated to music by Michel Fadel and dabke dancing.
The Breidys would go on to have two daughters, Bella Maria, and Aya Sophia. “I believe family should be first, before any career,” Saidi previously shared with Vogue Arabia. “I will definitely try to create a balance since I still have a lot of dreams I want to make come true. But my family comes first.”
