Taking us through glamorous Dubai, Rita Ora‘s new music video for her track New Look has gained over 500,000 views in less than 24 hours. The British hitmaker first hinted the launch of the music video on Friday with a stunning picture of herself at the neon-lit Meydan bridge.
The video starts with an unmistakable drone shot of Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road with the sound of cars passing by filling up the background.
Giving in to the city’s reputation for luxurious cars and custom number plates, Ora shows off one herself in the video — a red-colored Dodge Challenger with a license plate saying ‘R1TA’. Leaning on her shiny car in old Dubai’s new trendy locale Al Seef, the 28-year-old sings, “I just want to know every place that you go, everyone that you know, everything that you do…” The songstress portrays herself as a mechanic as she is surrounded by women who are hard at work repairing cars. This scene also hinted at shattering stereotypes by including an Arab woman in a hijab.
Ora’s looks in the video channel the vibe of the city with one bold outfit after another. Standing casually at the Dubai Creek, she is seen sporting a bright orange fur coat over a multicolored sequin dress.
The 2.43-minute video comes to end with an aerial shot of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa — without which the music video would surely have been incomplete.
