It appears that Rihanna and her Saudi partner Hassan Jameel are still very much an item. The couple, who have not been seen in public together in months, were photographed at the Staples Center enjoying a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game this weekend, just 24-hours after the singer’s 31st birthday. Jameel sat beside her, while the multihyphenate was seen cheering passionately from the private box (her team won, FYI). The multi award-winning singer and designer opted for a LeBron James jersey, which she wore with tight jeans and white stiletto boots. The casual look coordinated with Saudi businessman Jameel’s choice of a white T-shirt, black bomber jacket, and a baseball cap.

The couple have managed to keep their relationship low-key. Prior to this weekend’s basketball game, Rihanna and Jameel have hardly ever been pictured together. The couple was last photographed getting dinner at a Malibu restaurant together in December 2018. And before that, one of the last times Jameel was photographed —alone— was in January 2018 when they both attended a Grammys after party at 1Oak in New York City together.
The singer and Jameel, who is the deputy president and vice chairman of family business Abdul Latif Jameel in Saudi Arabia, have been linked to each other since June 2017, when they were pictured together in Spain. In an interview with Vogue US, Rihanna alluded to her relationship with Jameel saying: “I used to feel guilty about taking personal time, but I also think I never met someone who was worth it before.”
The Lakers game wasn’t the only thing the entertainer got up to for her 31st birthday. The night before, Rihanna was photographed wearing a bright green bodycon dress to her birthday celebration at Wally’s, a restaurant in Beverly Hills. Then on Thursday, the superstar posted a photo of herself wearing a Vetements hoodie from the label’s Fall 2019 men’s collection, that was cheekily emblazoned with “It’s my birthday and all I got was this oversized hoodie from Vetements.”
