Rihanna Has Officially Been Titled The Richest Woman in Music

Over the past few years, without even releasing an album, Rihanna has garnered many accomplishments. After the launch of her new fashion label preceded by her beauty company and lingerie line, the 31-year old superstar has been titled the music industry’s richest woman.

In Forbes magazine’s round-up of the 80 richest self-made women in America, the Barbadian singer made the list at #37 with a fortune totaling USD600 million (AED2.2 billion) which outranks that of Madonna (USD570 million) and Celine Dion (USD450 million) and Beyoncé (USD400 million).

Rihanna – whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty — owes most of her fortune to her eponymous beauty brand which took the industry by storm with its inclusive shade range and high-quality products at reasonable price points. Within only 15 months of it being launched, Fenty Beauty earned the “Work” hitmaker USD570 million.

The news follows the launch of Rihanna’s new fashion label, Fenty, with which she made history by becoming the first black female to create an original brand under the luxury conglomerate of LVMH. Earlier this year, speaking to the New York Times Rihanna said, “I never thought I’d make this much money, so a number is not going to stop me from working.”

Things won’t be slowing down for the singer any time soon as she is currently working on her highly-anticipated ninth studio album R9 which is set to release later this year.
