Music from Rihanna has been scarce since the release of her 2016 album Anti. While the Grammy award-winning artist has certainly been busy over the past few years between running two businesses and starting a family, fans have constantly been asking for new music. Next year, that wish might just come true.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the mother of two is planning a return to the studio for new songs and a world tour is also in the pipeline. The news comes almost a year after she released her Oscar-nominated single ‘Lift Me Up’ for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Although an exact time for this long-awaited return has not been specified, a reported deal with Live Nation proves that this time there may be some substance to the rumors.
Earlier this year in February, the star revealed to British Vogue that she had originally planned to release a new album in 2023 before plans changed due to her pregnancy. The ‘We Found Love’ singer has two children with her partner A$AP Rocky, RZA Athelston Mayers, and Riot Rose Mayers.
“I realized that if I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it’s going to keep taking forever and maybe it’ll never come out and no, I’m not down to that,” she said. “So I want to play. And by play, I mean I have my ideas in my head, but I can’t say them out loud yet.”
An insider revealed to The Mirror that, “Rihanna is quietly planning a comeback tour after signing with Live Nation. The deal was created to facilitate a world tour and her creative team is quietly at work in Los Angeles putting it all together as she raises her family. She’ll press play on the live show once she’s ready to go back to work and has two albums’ worth of material to release once she’s back.”
