Inspired by the golden era of Art Deco, the newly opened F.R.N.D.S Grand Cafe seems to be dripping in opulence at the prestigious Address Fountain Views. Elements such as a striking five-meter-tall “bas-relief” carving crafted by world-renowned Portuguese artist VHILS or the glass-enclosed private dining room make this a must-visit venue. Matching the elegance of the ambiance is an extensive menu offering Japanese and Mediterranean flavors. Two renowned chefs helm the kitchen bringing dishes such as Beef Rossini, Maguro Tataki Gomadare, and a flavoursome Tempura Duck Sando amongst a number of other items. An outdoor terrace with shisha service transports diners to the classic cafes lining the iconic Champs-Élysées.

In the heart of DIFC, Alaya serves an appetizing lunch menu suitable for every palate, from the one craving something a little light or refreshing to the one that always goes for a punch of spice. Delightful mezze dishes such as the zesty green harissa prawns or the cheese borek, crowned with fresh truffle shavings provide the perfect option for sharing. An indulgent start to your meal is provided by flavorsome smaller bites including the spiced carrot salad. For the main event of the day, guests can choose from a selection of meat, poultry, seafood, and pasta options – a juicy shish wagyu and the shish chicken are crowd-pleasers while the salt crust turbot is a seafood gourmand’s dream. The meal ends on a sweet note with options such as mochikan chocolate with vanilla ice cream or pistachio ice cream adorned with pomegranate jewels.

Served in the form of an unassuming mandarin, unraveling to reveal a hearty liver parfait, the world-renowned meat fruit serves as a delightful play on the senses while Blumenthal’s tipsy cake stands out for its rich flavors and accompanying spit-roast pineapple. Other noteworthy heroes include Heston’s hay-smoked salmon (circa 1730), roast halibut and green sauce (circa 1440), and powdered duck breast (circa 1846).
