Why Festivalgoers are Upset with the Lineup Announcement of RedFestDXB 2020

This is not a drill — Dubai’s highly-awaited music festival RedFestDXB recently announced the lineup of their 2020 festival edition set to take place on February 6 and 7. However, there’s one factor which has left the people of Dubai a little upset – that it’s an all-male lineup. As much as everyone loves Martin Garrix and Stormzy, festivalgoers were also expecting to groove to music by female singers like Halsey, Billie Eilish or perhaps, Lizzo.

This year, heading straight from Atlanta, American rapper Young Thug will take the stage of Dubai Media City Amphitheatre to entertain the crowd with his chart-topping tracks like ‘The London’ and ‘Hot’, alongside renowned Dutch DJ Martin Garrix and British indie pop band Bastille will also be performing live on February 6.

On the next day, artists Machine Gun Kelly, Cheat Codes – together known for their famous single featuring Demi Lovato called ‘No Promises’, Dani Neville, and the king of grime – Stormzy will take the stage. Previously, the festival has seen stars like Rita Ora, Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, G-Eazy, and Fifth Harmony amongst many others to perform on the Virgin Radio RedFestDXB stage. Besides the performing acts, there is a whole host of activities festivalgoers can look forward to, including trying out bites from some of the best Middle Eastern food vendors, engaging in sponsor activations and clicking pictures next to the chic instagrammable interactive installations.

Tickets for the festival start from Dhs395 and are available at dubai.platinumlist.net. For more information, visit redfestdxb.com.
