Ras Al Khaimah has recently come out with a new initiative to incorporate dog-friendly locations in the Emirate. Titled ‘Ras Al-K9’, the program plans to run across 25 hotels, restaurants, pet-friendly festivals and wadis in the Emirate so you don’t have to worry about leaving your four-legged friend back home while you’re away for the weekend.

“Ras Al Khaimah’s natural typography alongside its spirit of genuine hospitality appeals to both travelers and their four-legged friends. We understand how hard it can be to leave a beloved pet at home while on holiday so we made it as easy as possible for guests to bring their pawsome family members with them,” said Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA).

RAK’s Animal Welfare Center

It is recommended that tourists visit the open-air dog park at RAK’s Animal Welfare Center which offers a variety of activities your pet can enjoy alongside socializing with other dogs. The park has a swimming pool and is also a fully-equipped agility park.

Ruzo

The contemporary Japanese cuisine restaurant, Ruzo offers pet-friendly outdoor seating at Flamingo beach. Alternatively, The Clubhouse in Al Hamra also welcomes visitors with their dogs in their neighboring dining locations, Bread & Barrel, Marina Muse and Tuscano Coffee.

Desert Adventures

With all the constant chatter around glamping, it is no surprise that the program also decided to hop on the bandwagon. The experiences with your canine take place over 10 acres of desert dunes and the all-encompassing Hajar Mountains. Dogs of all sizes are welcome to enjoy this experience. Water bowls, fenced perimeters, tennis balls and doggy ice cream will also be provided by the glamping team.

In terms of some upcoming events, RAK will be kicking off its first pet-friendly festival on Marjan Island on February 26. Additionally, running from February 18-20, Ras Al Khaimah will be hosting their Fine Arts Festival which will include a fun range of activities all the way from yoga to pet adoption.

If you have pets and are going to visit Ras Al Khaimah soon, do not miss out on this incredible experience!
