HM Queen Rania Shares Her Gratitude for Condolences on Her Father’s Death

HM Queen Rania of Jordan has taken to her social media to thank well-wishers for their condolences after the death of her father, Faisal Sidqi Al Yasin. He passed away on Friday, May 27, following which HM King Abdullah II declared a mourning period of seven days. While the cause of death had not been released, Jordan’s Royal Hashemite Court confirmed the death in a statement, expressing “sincere condolences and sincere sympathy” to the royal family “on this painful affliction”.

Queen Rania received an outpouring of commiserations, in response to which she wrote, “Thank you for your condolences on the passing of my dear father. There is no remedy for this kind of grief, but as my family and I mourn his loss, we have found such comfort in the kind words and prayers you have sent. Rest In Peace, father. You will be in our hearts forever.”

Messages of condolences to King Abdullah II and his family were sent from all around the region, including Saudi Arabia’s King Salman, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “We have been informed of the sad demise of the father of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, Dr. Faisal Sidqi Al-Yasin,” read King Salman’s cable. “As we dispatch to Your Majesty and the family of the deceased our profound condolence and sincere consolation, we appeal to Allah Almighty to bestow his mercy and forgiveness on his soul; and keep you from any harm.”

A similar cable was also sent to Queen Rania by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF). In her message, she expressed sympathy with the royal and prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the soul of her father.
