HM Queen Rania’s Loving Birthday Message to Crown Prince Hussein

Today, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan posted a touching tribute to her eldest child with her husband King Abdullah II of Jordan, Crown Prince Hussein, on her Instagram feed. The image showed the royal couple and their son, who turns 24 today, wearing coordinating blue shorts and smiling at the camera. “Wishing Prince Al Hussein all the best on his birthday,” HM wrote.

The loving message followed another birthday tribute, a series of short clips of the newly-minted 24-year-old and his father during a day of training drills. “Happy birthday Al Hussein, we grow more proud of you every day… I see so much of His Majesty in you, including your shared love for the military.”

Crown Prince Hussein, who is next in line to the throne, graduated from Britain’s prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (which was also attended by Prince Harry and Prince William) last year after obtaining an undergraduate degree in international history from Georgetown University in Washington DC. The royal holds the rank of first lieutenant in the Jordanian Armed Forces and is also a skilled helicopter pilot. He also made history as the youngest person ever to chair a meeting of the Security Council at the United Nations back in 2015.

He recently hosted the Duke of Cambridge, who was in the midst of a Middle Eastern tour, at Amman’s Beit Al Urdun Palace. The royals bonded over a pre-taped World Cup match of England vs Panama, following Prince William’s first day in the nation. Crown Prince Hussein shared a snapshot of the evening with his 1.4 million fans, revealing he had “a relaxing evening with His Royal Highness Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, after his first day in Jordan”.
