Back in January, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced that they had welcomed their first child via surrogate, daughter Malti Marie. Over the weekend, to mark mother’s day in the US, the couple shared a poignant Instagram post in which they revealed their baby girl had spent over 100 days in NICU.
The couple, who have stayed out of the spotlight in recent months, revealed their daughter spent months in the newborn intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai in LA, but that they have finally been able to bring her home after a “challenging few months”.

Priyanka and Nick each shared the same touching message about their newborn on their respective Instagram feeds, alongside a sweet family photograph. “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced,” they wrote. In the caption, they thanked the doctors and nurses at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles, and expressed their joy that their little one was finally home.
Nick added a special note to his caption and wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and care takers out there, but I want to take a minute to say a special Mother’s Day wish to my incredible wife @priyankachopra on her first Mother’s Day”. It was followed by a sweet closing message: “I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother. Happy Mother’s Day. I love you.”
