On his first official trip to the UAE, Prince William will have a busy day of engagements. Besides visiting the renowned Expo 2020 Dubai site on Thursday, the future king’s timetable will also include trips to Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali Port. Read on to know more about his itinerary.

Jubail Mangrove Park, Abu Dhabi

A known environmentalist, Prince William will take a closer look at the UAE’s efforts to preserve Abu Dhabi’s mangroves during his upcoming visit. Opened in 2020, Abu Dhabi’s Jubai Mangrove Park raises awareness on the environmental stakes the habitat faces. The park includes a long boardwalk where visitors such as Prince William can have a stroll and peek at the scenery, and wildlife.

Jebel Ali Port

The Duke of Cambridge will also visit the Jebel Ali port where he is expected to learn about the UAE’s vision of tackling illegal wildlife trade. In 2014, Prince William established United for Wildlife, which further helps the cause of the UAE in protecting the rights of wildlife. Throughout the visit to the port, Prince William will be shown behind-the-scene operations that take place at the Middle East’s largest port. He will also witness container ships unloading cargo under inspection by customs offices.

Expo 2020 Dubai

At the world’s biggest fair being hosted by Dubai, Prince William is expected to meet HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. In the Al Wasl Plaza, the site’s main entertainment hub and center, Prince William will attend the celebration of the United Kingdom’s National Day. He will also give out the Earthshot Prize, the annual awards created by him to reward those who create awareness and work towards change in saving the planet.

A visit to Expo 2020 Dubai would be incomplete without visiting one of its many pavilions. And so, Prince William will also make his way to the US Pavilion, where he will be presented with a specially-made supper by Indian chef Vineet Bhatia, who is the culinary ambassador for the Great Britain and Northern Ireland campaign to raise UK’s culinary status to the world. Adding to the culinary experience is baker Mich Turner, who has created a four-foot masterpiece cake moulded with rose details for the special event.
