Kensington Palace has shared two new portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s third child, Prince Louis on Saturday. One portrait shows the sleeping newborn being embraced by his big sister Princess Charlotte, taken on May 3rd (it was her birthday). The photo brought to mind the portraits Kate Middleton took of a then one-month-old Charlotte with her big brother Prince George.

The second was just of Louis, wearing a white sweater and pants, taken a mere three days after his birth. “The Duchess took this photograph on 26 April. Prince Louis was born on 23 April at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London,” the royal family wrote.

A keen photographer, the Duchess of Cambridge regularly shares photographs she’s taken of her children, including snapshots of their first day of nursery and birthdays.

Prince Louis’ next appearance most likely won’t be until his royal christening in July— It was announced that the newborn will be absent from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s wedding on May 19. However, his siblings Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, are expected to be in attendance.
