Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Join Selena Gomez, J Lo, and More for Covid-19 Vaccine Benefit Concert

On Saturday, May 8, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be joining the star-studded lineup for Global Citizen’s Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World. Hosted by singer and actor Selena Gomez, the upcoming fundraiser is being held to raise money for Covid-19 vaccines and campaign for their fair and equal access for everyone.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were named official campaign chairs and will deliver a message about vaccine equity during the televised production. The couple has also been leading a fundraising drive to raise money for the vaccine sharing program Covax.

Besides Gomez, other renowned names participating in the show include US president Joe Biden, first lady Jill Biden, and vice president Kamala Harris as a part of their We Can Do This national initiative to increase uptake in the Covid-19 vaccine. The list also includes Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, Jimmy Kimmel, Sean Penn, David Letterman, Gayle King, and many more. Musical performances are also expected from Jennifer Lopez, J Balvin, H.E.R., and Eddie Vedder. Notably, president Emmanuel Macron of France, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, and prime minister Plenkovic of Croatia will also appear at the concert.

The concert will be pre-taped on May 2 at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in front of a live audience of fully vaccinated front-line healthcare and essential workers. The show will then be broadcast on ABC, ABC News Live, CBS, Youtube, iHeartMedia radio stations, and the iHeartRadio app on May 8.
