The past week saw Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embark on a series of appointments in Canada as part of the official Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 One Year to Go events. This included visiting the Mount Currie Community Centre, and meeting with Invictus alumni, competitors, sponsors, and more. As the last stop for the countdown, the couple hosted a celebratory One Year to Go gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre, which was also attended by representatives of the government and Four Host First Nations, Invictus Games Foundation members, IG25 Sponsors, and friends of the couple Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato.

Now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared their thoughts on the remarkable three days, reflecting on how special their time in Canada was. “We loved being back in Canada, a place so meaningful to both of us. It was an honor to be welcomed by the Four Host First Nations, as we marked One Year To Go, together with Invictus coaches, competitors and families,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told People. “It filled our hearts to once again be surrounded by Canadian people, food and culture. We felt the Invictus spirit and excitement throughout Whistler and Vancouver, and are so grateful to all our hosts for organizing such a memorable visit. We’re counting down the days until we return!”

The statement was also accompanied by an unseen photo of the couple at dinner, all smiles as they look to the stage. For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex gave a sartorial nod to Canada by wearing a look from local brand Greta Constantine. The olive green gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and a subtle, mermaid silhouette. Markle paired the dress with a diamond choker and earrings, and styled her hair in her signature side-parted bun.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which was founded by Prince Harry as a “platform for wounded, injured and sick service personnel to engage in sport to aid their rehabilitation.”
