A source close to Prince Harry has revealed to the Press News Association that the Duke of Sussex spoke to his father about the King’s cancer diagnosis, and will be flying to London in the coming days to see him. It is unclear whether Prince Harry—who has relocated to California, US since stepping down as a senior royal—will be traveling with his wife Meghan Markle, and two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. According to People, the monarch personally called his two sons—Prince Harry and Prince William—to inform them of his health, alongside speaking to his three siblings — Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, before Buckingham Palace announced the news on Monday.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the statement read. Although the Palace did not confirm what kind of cancer the King has been diagnosed with, it did share that the 75-year-old is currently undergoing regular medical treatment, and that he will postpone public-facing duties while continuing to work on state business and paperwork. “He remains wholly positive about the treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible,” Buckingham Palace said. “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”

As for Prince William, who is first in line of succession to the throne, he may be expected to take on some of his father’s royal duties. Per the British Parliament, if the King is medically unwell, he may delegate certain duties to the Counsellors of State, which include Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Beatrice, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward. The Prince of Wales is also facing another medical issue within his own household after Kate Middleton was recently released from the hospital following a planned surgery.
