Platform 09 is returning for its seventh edition, to showcase and empower local businesswomen in the Middle East. The five-day event is held annually in Fujairah under the patronage of HH Sheikha Shamseh Bint Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, daughter of HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the ruler of Fujairah.
“Seven years have passed since our first Platform 09, back in 2014. We started with a group of young ambitious women. We never imagined that this humble initiative would lead to the creation of a tribe of more than 20,000 women across the Arab region.” remarked Al Sharqi. She added: “As an Arab, Emirati woman I have learned and been inspired by the creativity and accomplishments of the women from this region. Their success stories have given me the resources and motivation to pass this inspiration forward.”

Celebrating, supporting, and bringing together female Arab designers, artists and entrepreneurs, the interactive event forms a part of the charity exhibition Zero Nine and will take place from January 28 to February 1 under the theme of ‘Harmony’ — a testament to every woman’s journey to becoming her most authentic self. “This year Platform 09’s beneficiary is our tribe! As a thank you, to all who have supported the success of our exhibition for the past seven years, entrance to the event will be completely free,” stated the founder. This is why the event will be free of charge this year with its nine interactive and inspirational platforms imbibing the theme of ‘Harmony’ to create an all-encompassing encounter surrounding innovation, culture, solidarity, and parity.
“We are women with full and exciting lives. We have careers and businesses, we have families, we travel, we explore and experience life. We live life to the fullest. We can find harmony in every aspect of our lives if we choose to,” said Al Sharqi.
Visitors can anticipate an exhibit of 90 female Arab designers, business visionaries and artists, various food trucks and live entertainment performances at the venue. What’s more, the heart and soul of the event, the forum platform will spotlight female Arab women and entertainers by changing the space into an experiential theater that will play host to various exhibitions across practices.
