This weekend, all eyes were on Dubai, where the much-talked-about Atlantis The Royal, which is officially being called the most luxurious resort in the world, finally opened its doors. And for the big moment, nothing but the absolute gold standard would do. To create an experience that would stay with its guests for a lifetime, the hotel put together a weekend like no other, with its biggest highlight being a once-in-a-lifetime musical performance by none other than Beyoncé.

After a relaxing stay this weekend, Atlantis The Royal’s handpicked guests (which included some of the most illustrious names in the region and the rest of the world) were treated to what can only be described as a magical get-together. Queen Bey took to the outdoor stage to light up the hotel in a way only she can, accompanied by dance group Mayyas, the exceptionally talented Lebanese women who made the region proud by winning America’s Got Talent Season 17 last year. During the performance, Beyoncé was also joined by daughter Blue Ivy on stage, marking the teenager’s second time performing in public. The mother-daughter duo came together to present the 2019 Grammy Award-winning song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.

No Beyoncé performance is truly complete without a look at the icon’s ensembles, and for her Dubai performance, the multi-hyphenate paid homage to Arab creatives by appearing in a series of noteworthy looks by local designers. Among the most talked-about? A stunning red look by Nicolas Jebran which comprised a bejeweled corset, trousers, and a detachable skirt, and a cheery yellow Atelier Zuhra gown that came with 30 sheets of acrylics that were cut into tiny sections to add shine and drama. In new pictures, Beyoncé was also seen dancing in the midst of the Mayyas wearing a pink bodycon number topped off with intricate layers of silver and gold sequins.
During the course of the weekend, Beyoncé also opted to accessorize her outfits with pieces by regional talents. Marzook’s gold mirror clutch bag won her favor while wearing a head-to-toe gold look, and designer Yousef Akbar also designed a look for the superstar. “Working with Beyoncé had been incredible,” he shared with Vogue Arabia. “She is an amazing artist. She’s creative, powerful and an inspiration to many. She embodies everything the Yousef Akbar woman is about. It has been a challenging yet fun process, and I’m very honored to be an Arab designer dressing Beyoncé for her concert in Dubai.”

For her special musical appearance last evening, Beyoncé opted for a fail-safe beauty look that’s come to be her signature of late. The artist stood out with her trademark bronzy glow, complemented with glossy nude lips and gold eyeshadow. As for her hair, long Grecian waves were the way to go to create a goddess-like look that worked beautifully both on and off stage.
