On Monday night, Vogue Arabia and Retail Abu Dhabi played host to an exclusive gala dinner with the five billion times streamed music star, Rita Ora.
Hosted at the St Regis Abu Dhabi, the dinner marked a glamorous stop in a series of exciting brand activations and insightful masterclasses by global stylists taking place in Abu Dhabi throughout the season — all curated by the team at Vogue Arabia. Being one of the first few post-lockdown jet-setting events in the country, it brought together regional creatives and the who’s who of the fashion industry in an intimate setting. In attendance were Iranian singer Layla Kardan, Vogue Arabia publisher Shashi Menon, Vogue Hong Kong fashion director Anya Ziourova, content creators Rhea Jacobs, Rabih Rowell, Hamoody Bamby, TV presenter Asallah Kamel, and Middle Eastern designers Reema Al Banna, Sara Al Tamimi, and Faissal El-Malak.
Dressed in a lilac Prada cocktail dress, Ora took the stage with Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut, for a candid chat on style and all things Abu Dhabi. The “Let You Love Me” singer and Arnaut also discussed the Retail Abu Dhabi x Vogue campaign video, starring Ora and shot the day before across town.
While seated among the guests enjoying canapés and Arabic food, Ora was treated to a surprise performance of a jazz remix of one of her hit tracks, “R.I.P.” by Kardan who went on to serenade everyone with her renditions of other songs.
