On Tuesday night, the designers behind Middle Eastern accessories labels L’Atelier Nawbar, Okhtein, and Zyne hosted a joint dinner at Dubai’s Parisian eatery La Serre to celebrate their newest launches. The intimate gathering was attended by press, influencers, and fashion insiders including Egyptian actress Lara Scandar, Lebanese philanthropist and model Jessica Kahawaty, and Vogue Arabia’s editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut. The well-heeled guests got to mingle and take in the Arab female-led brands’ Spring 2019 accessories collections, which were playfully displayed alongside candles and floral centerpieces atop a long dinner table.
L’Atelier Nawbar is a storied fine jewelry label that stretches back to 1881 and was recently revived by sisters Dima and Tania Nawbar. The Beirut-based brand’s newest offering cites “chakras and cosmetology” as its inspiration, and boasts a lineup of 18kt yellow gold pieces influenced by the Zodiac and constellations. Meanwhile, Aya and Mounaz Abdelraouf’s latest collection for Okhtein draws inspiration from their home country of Egypt. The range, which was created in collaboration with Moroccan accessories designer Zineb Britel of Zyne, comprises their signature clutches and bags favored by Beyoncé and Gigi Hadid in textured suede and raffia.
