The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class sets new standards in contemporary luxury, while going even further in its offering of elegance with a sporty touch.
With its sleek new exterior and interior features, the new C-Class breaks away from its comfort zone to distill a modern approach into a compact package that doesn’t forgo either luxury or prestige.
High-octane touches abound in the C-Class, such as dynamic proportions that make it look to be in motion at a standstill, wide track and flush wheels, and a bonnet with power domes that further accentuates this urge of forward motion.
A “cab-backward design” means the windscreen and passenger cell have been moved to the rear. The brand’s hallmark radiator grille characterizes the front. And while all models feature a central star with differently-detailed radiator grilles, a distinguishing characteristic in the AMG line is the diamond grille with the star design in chrome.
A driver-focus approach adds to the sportiness, with the dashboard and central display being slightly tilted towards the driver by six degrees. The C-Class also furthers its ongoing reputation of offering up highvalue appeal in the interior. The driver area features a high-resolution LCD screen, which is free-standing and appears to float in front of the wing profile and the expanse of trim. Customers have the option of choosing between two versions; a 26cm or a 31.2cm version.
To create a visual impression of lightness, the seats use layers and enveloping surfaces. A dashboard covered with man-made leather and featuring nappa-look beltlines is available for the C-Class, standard with the AMG line.
The new C-Class is equipped with the second generation of MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). The interior of the car has become more digital and intelligent in terms of both the software and hardware. The LCD screens’ exceptional images make controlling the vehicle feel effortless. The look of the screens can be individualized with three displays: The Classic, the Sporty, and the Discreet. Each style has different attributes. The Sporty style is dominated by the color red, with dynamic design of the central rev counter. The Classic features a familiar display environment, as the proven display with two tubes and changing content provides all the information relevant to the driver. Meanwhile in Discreet, the content is reduced to what is essential.
The Air-Balance Package in the C-Class provides an individual fragrance sensation in the interior. At the touch of a button or by voice command, the holistic “Fit & Healthy” approach of Energizing Comfort provides a tangible experience of the different comfort systems and features programs that group them into worlds of experience. At the same time, the system creates a matching atmosphere in the interior – for example, invigorating in case of fatigue or relaxing in case of an elevated stress level. The Energizing Coach suggests an appropriate fitness or wellness program based on vehicle and trip data. It also factors in information about sleep quality and stress level into its intelligent algorithm if the driver has a suitable wearable.
With a more attractive price base upping its value, the new C-Class packs quite the punch.
