Dinner is supposed to be an intimate time with loved ones, where everyone gets together and shares fun updates over a hot meal. Sometimes, small mishaps can lead to funny stories, but other times, they can lead to disasters.
Netflix just dropped the official trailer for the much-anticipated Arabic adaptation of Perfect Strangers, and there’s no missing the buzz it’s already creating online. Starring a pan-Arab cast consisting of Lebanese award-winning director and actor Nadine Labaki and Egyptian icon Mona Zaki, along with Eyad Nassar, Georges Khabbaz, Adel Karam, Fouad Yammine, and Diamand Abou Abboud, the movie is all set to hit home screens on January 20, 2022. Directed by Wissam Smayra, the film will revolves around seven close friends who decide to get together for dinner, and play a game that makes them openly share all their calls, texts, and voice messages. This seemingly innocent game, however, ends up opening old wounds and leads to unexpected confrontations and scandals, only to end on a cliff-hanger. The Arabic edition of Perfect Strangers has been produced by Front Row Filmed Entertainment, Empire Entertainment, Film Clinic and Yalla Yalla, and will be available in 190 countries on Netflix and will be dubbed in three languages. The Italian original (Perfetti Sconosciuti) debuted in 2016, and was directed by Paolo Genovese. The film earned itself a Guinness World Record by becoming the the most remade film in cinema history, achieving 18 remakes in Spain, Mexico, South Korea, France, Hungary, Greece, China, Russia, Armenia, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, Vietnam, Turkey, and Lebanon.
