In what has been both the longest and shortest five months ever, we are glad to report we have somehow made it to June. As the days get longer and the nights shorter, we are turning our gaze to sunsets, shorelines, and screen time—the latter of which is made especially exciting courtesy of OSN’s summer movie line up. Providing a host of new movies with plenty of choices for everyone, here are some of the movies you do not want to miss this June.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Next is a film perfect for the family. A Disney+ Original starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning and Harris Dickinson, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ will premiere on Saturday, June 5 at 10pm UAE/9pm KSA time. Following the complex family ties that bind Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora, the film takes viewers on an exciting journey of love, friendship and the struggle between good and evil.
Kicking off the month with an intense and suspenseful thriller, OSN presents ‘Driven.’ Starring Jason Sudeikis, Lee Pace, Judy Greer and Corey Stoll, this film effortlessly combines politics, business, corruption, and crime, and will no doubt leave you on the edge of your seat. Driven premieres on Friday, June 4 at 11pm UAE/10pm KSA time.
Adding to the blockbuster fanfare, next up is four-time Oscar winner ‘Parasite’, a 2019 South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho. Depicting the tale of a poor family, the Kims, Parasite explores themes of crime, manipulation and the perils of dishonesty. Catch it on OSN on Friday, June 19 at 10pm UAE/9pm KSA time.
If you’re looking for some action, look no further than ‘The Bouncer.’ Following a 50-year-old bouncer who is struggling to raise his 8-year-old daughter, this film will leave you wanting more. Premiering on Thursday, June 18 at 11pm UAE/10pm KSA time, the movie stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sami Bouajila and Sveva Alviti.
For another family favorite, don’t miss Disney’s ‘Artemis Fowl.’ Starring Colin Farrell, Miranda Raison and Oscar winner Judi Dench, the film premieres on Saturday, June 13 at 8pm UAE/7pm KSA time. and follows a young criminal prodigy on his hunt for fairies and his missing father.
Where’d You Go Bernadette
For something more light-hearted, stick around for comedy-drama ‘Where’d You Go Bernadette’ premiering on Friday, June 26 at 10pm UAE/9pm KSA time. Starring Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup and Emma Nelson, the film follows a mother who is completely consumed with finding herself after years of devoting time to her family. Will her leap of faith pay off? Only time will tell.
In addition, OSN will be paying special tribute to Tom Cruise with a dedicated pop-up channel which will run from Friday, June 19 to Saturday, July 4. The 16-day mega marathon includes his best films, offering hours and hours of thrilling entertainment.
Lastly, a two-day Disney Pixar Movies Marathon will keep the whole family entertained with favorites including ‘Finding Nemo’, ‘A Bug’s Life’ and ‘Inside Out’, among others.
