Meghan Markle may just bring back The Tig sooner than you’d expect.

Among the sacrifices made by Meghan Markle on her entrance to royal life were setting aside not only her acting career but her lifestyle blog, The Tig. Now, however, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex build their life in California away from the royal fold, it’s been reported that Meghan is set to imminently revive her “passion project.”

The New York Post cites a document filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office, seen by the daily newspaper. It reportedly indicates that a prospective relaunched version of the website could encompass articles and interviews on “food, cooking, recipes, travel, relationships, fashion, style, interior design, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, health and wellness.”

The Mirror adds that Meghan Markle has been given official preliminary approval for the site, which would also reportedly offer “commentary in the field of personal relationships” and could be set to go live as soon as next week. Unnamed “insiders” told the tabloid that Meghan hoped the venture could become a similar success to Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness empire, Goop.

The former Suits star ceased posting on the site—named after her favorite red wine, Tignanello—in 2017. She posted a farewell message, writing: “After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig. What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.’” She concluded: “Above all, don’t ever forget your worth—as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough.”

A source told People at the time that the decision to retire the blog was not due to Meghan Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry (the couple’s engagement was publicly announced some months later, in November that year), stressing: “The Tig has been a labor of love for Meghan…but it’s a full-time job. She wants to focus this season of Suits…and spending more time in the field on her philanthropy.”

Nonetheless, the couple’s decision to leave royal life behind has given them the free reign to pursue ventures that wouldn’t fall under the conventional royal remit. From production deals with Netflix and Spotify (which have so far brought the public the Harry and Meghan docuseries and the duchess’s 12-episode podcast, Archetypes), to their Archewell foundation and Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, now the revival of The Tig could open up a new avenue for Meghan Markle’s independent career.
