Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have stepped back from royal duties, but they’re not stepping back from their roles as altruistic public figures—on Instagram, at least. Today, they shared some hopeful words with their 11.3 million followers about the new coronavirus pandemic.
They posted a navy blue quote card adorned with their joint cipher. “This moment is as true a testament there is to the human spirit,” it read.
Then they posted a lengthy caption, where they spoke of building a “digital neighborhood” in these uncertain times.
“Now, more than ever, we need each other. We need each other for truth, for support, and to feel less alone during a time that can honestly feel quite scary,” the couple wrote. “There are so many around the world who need support right now, who are working tirelessly to respond to this crisis behind the scenes, on the frontline, or at home. Our willingness, as a people, to step up in the face of what we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is awe-inspiring.”
They continued by sharing how, over the next few weeks, they will manage their account. That includes posting important information from trusted experts, tips on how to stay healthy, and sharing inspirational stories from around the globe.
