Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be visiting the UK to attend a charity event this September. The couple will be visiting the country for the first time after the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations that took place earlier this year.

“We are pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit the United Kingdom and Germany during the first week of September this year,” a posting from the pair’s media team revealed, while a spokesperson added, “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.” During the trip, they will also be attending the One Young World 2022 Manchester Summit on September 5, the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event on September 6 in Germany and the WellChild Awards 2022 on September 8 in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex initially launched the Invictus Game for wounded servicemen and women when he was a working royal, with the first event held in 2014. In addition to that, he also became the Patron of WellChild in 2007, which was one of the charity patronages he didn’t return to the Queen when he stepped down as royal.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially stepped back from senior royal duties and moved to the United States in January 2020. The duo returned to the UK twice after they relocated, once in June for the week long festivities celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s reign of 75 years and the second on a quick, private visit to see the Queen in April before heading to The Hague for the Invictus Games.
