Having lived in three different countries over the last year including the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally begun to lay down some American roots, having reportedly bought a house in Santa Barbara last month. After moving to Los Angeles earlier in the year, celebrity news source Page Six confirms that the couple was on the lookout for a permanent location to settle down in even before their separation from the Royal Family. The new house, which is reportedly an hour and a half northwest of downtown Los Angeles is an intimate abode, with plenty of privacy and space for baby Archie to frolic in.
Reporting on the move, a spokesperson for the couple told Page Six, “While It has been a very special time for them as a couple and as a family—to have complete privacy for six weeks since they moved in, they intend to put down their roots in this house and the quiet community, which has considerable privacy.” “This is where they want to bring Archie up, where they hope he can have as normal a life as possible,” the source continued.
Having lived in multiple homes over the last year, from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor to a luxurious waterfront property on Vancouver Island, Meghan and Harry’s new home is said to be more suited to the couple’s lifestyle. Speaking of their time in Tyler Perry’s palatial mansion, the spokesperson continued, “While it was a nice favor to them at a very difficult time, Tyler Perry’s house with 18 bedrooms isn’t Harry’s style.” “Yes, he grew up in royalty and the halls of Buckingham Palace, but he prefers more intimate homes with character.”

With privacy being an issue of utmost importance to the Duke and Duchess, it seems as though their new property is the perfect place to escape the watchful eye of the press. “They have thought about this carefully and researched it well. This is the place where they plan to be happy, make good friends and bring up Archie, giving him the chance to play with other children his age,” the source concluded.
