The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry have arrived at a girls’ boarding house run by Education For All in the town of Asni in the Atlas mountains in Morocco. The royals were welcomed by two adorable little girls, who were eagerly anticipating the Duchess’s arrival. Once there, the pregnant royal immediately ran up to the kids to greet them. After asking them for their names, the Duchess of Sussex showed them her artful henna tattoo, which she had gotten applied earlier that day.

Markle, who is set to welcome her first child with Prince Harry next month, took part in a henna ceremony to celebrate her pregnancy. From the Middle East to Africa, henna has long been thought to offer protection and luck during a woman’s third trimester and beyond. Markle’s henna flower design was created by a 17-year-old, who has lived in Asni’s boarding house for 6 years. When the henna design was completed Markle said, “That’s really lovely” and proudly showed it to husband Prince Harry, who was sitting next to her. The Duchess added, “It will dry for a little bit and then we can walk through.”

The royal couple also met with local schoolchildren and their teachers at a secondary school in the Atlas Mountains. During the visit, Markle showed off her French skills while conversing with the children.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to the North African country for a three-day visit at the request of HM Queen Elizabeth and on behalf of the U.K. government. The royal couple arrived hand-in-hand to Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport on Saturday, where they were greeted by the British Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas Reilly, and his wife, Leah. The visit marks the expecting Markle’s first in the region, and the last royal tour before she steps away from her royal duties in preparation of the arrival of baby Sussex.

During their three-day trip, the royals are also set to visit the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports to see how equine therapy supports children with special needs. After that, they are scheduled to take part in a traditional Moroccan cooking demonstration before stopping by at the Andalusian Gardens to hear about youth empowerment. Their tour will officially end on Monday, then, it’s back to the United Kingdom, ahead of their upcoming move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
