Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert Had a Mean Girls Reunion

Almost a decade later, Mean Girls continues to captivate and inform popular culture – Hailey Bieber recreated the iconic movie poster just a few days ago – but there still seems to be a sequel on the radar. However, for those who have been aching to once again see the hallways of North Shore High School and catch up with our favorite characters Walmart has delivered.

A new Black Friday commercial from the retailer takes us back into the nostalgia-laden world of ‘The Plastics’. Unfortunately, the reunion does not feature Rachel McAdams as Regina George. However, there are still plenty of familiar faces, from Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert reprising their roles as Cady, Karen, and Gretchen, to Rajiv Surendra as Kevin Gnapoor and Daniel Franzese as Damien.

“At North Shore, some things never change,” Lohan narrates indicating that this 2-minute reunion is filled with plenty of references to the original Mean Girls movie. For example, “On Wednesdays we still wear pink,” but instead of going back to when these characters were still in high school, we get to catch up with them years later as they navigate adulthood.

Gretchen is seen trying hard to be a cool mom as she helps the new plastics – one of whom is her daughter – and continues to try her best to make “fetch” happen. Karen is just as clueless as we remember but now she gets to do that on live TV while Caddy finds herself still navigating high school as a guidance counselor.

Other notable allusions to the movie include a recreation of the “Jingle Bells Rock” performance at the Winter Talent Show and a montage about black Friday deals inspired by the iconic “How do I even begin to explain Regina George?” scene. In the end, Walmart leaves us with a witty catchphrase, “On Wednesdays we shop deals.”
