Speculations are that Maroon 5 could be the opening act for the soon-to-open Dubai Arena at City Walk. The American pop-rock group comprising of leader and vocalist Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and James Valentine might pay a visit to Dubai to conclude their upcoming tour which will have the band play shows in European cities.

The Grammy-Award winning band is known for their hit singles, “Moves Like Jagger”, “Girls Like You and “One More Night” with the latter topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks. The band has sold over 109 million singles and 27 albums, which makes them one of the world’s best-selling music artists.

Since the tour kicks off on June 1 in Denmark and will be finishing on June 11 in Paris, the band’s arrival in the city is anticipated soon after. The new air-conditioned Dubai Arena seems to be the only appropriate venue in the summer if and when Maroon 5 decide to perform for their fans in this part of the world.

Developed by Meraas, the Dubai Arena at the City Walk district is the first of its kind in the region. When opened, the indoor arena with a capacity to accommodate 17,000 spectators will host live concerts, sports, and entertainment events all year round.

In a statement, Abdulla Al Habbai, Group Chairman at Meraas, said: “We are confident that Dubai Arena will position the city on the international entertainment touring circuit and the audiences will have the opportunity to witness the world’s most talented performers and sporting events in the heart of Dubai. Dubai Arena will also ensure Meraas and its partners are in a strong position to be able to continue setting new benchmarks in leisure and entertainment regionally, while contributing to the emirate’s continued development as a major tourism destination and boosting the city’s appeal as a place to live, work and visit among residents and tourists.”
