Madonna has teamed up with Beyoncé for their first official collaboration, a remix of the latter’s latest single, ‘Break My Soul’. The six-minute-long track titled ‘Break My Soul – The Queens Remix’ has a retro-disco feel, leaning toward the song’s original vibe. This collab sets the record for the fifth official remix for the song, which is part of Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance.
As a gesture of gratitude, Beyoncé sent Madonna a note and a white bouquet, thanking her for collaborating with her on her single. Madonna took to Instagram to show off the flowers and the message which read, ‘Thank you, queen. I’m so grateful for you. You have opened up so many doors for so many women. You are [a] masterpiece genius. Thank you for allowing me to sing in your song and thank you for naming the remix!!!” Madonna captioned the picture, “Thank you! From one 👑 to another 👑 ”
While the collaboration between Beyoncé and Madonna is new, Madonna has not recorded any fresh vocals for the song. Instead, the track uses a remix of her hit 1990s song, ‘Vogue’. As the song closes, Beyonce gives a shoutout to fashion houses like Mugler, Balenciaga, Balmain, and Telfar, and Black female artists including Rihanna, Solange, Kelly Rowland, Grace Jones, Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill, and more.
