On May 14, the Moroccan-Swedish musician made history when she won the Eurovision contest for the second time with her new hit song, ‘Tattoo’. As expected, the news took the internet by storm, with Arab followers in particular sharing messages of pride and joy. And it looks like Loreen’s moment in the spotlight is only getting brighter.

Days after her big win in Liverpool, the musician has now found herself on the UK top 10 charts. After making it to position number 28 on the UK’s First Look chart (a noteworthy list which measures the success of a song after the first 48 hours of the cycle), ‘Tattoo’ made it to number nine on the midweek chart, and seems to slowly but steadily be making its way to the top.
Loreen’s loyal fans may already know that this isn’t the first time the Stockholm-born artist has been a Billboard favorite. Back in 2012, her hit song ‘Euphoria’, which won her her first Eurovision concert in Azerbaijan, scored the number three spot on the UK top 10. Things are only looking upwards for this powerhouse, who also spoke to Vogue Arabia about her life, and how music has influenced it, back in 2017. “Music is a big part of how my Moroccan family spend time together. Everybody can sing or play an instrument,” she shared. “It’s a huge part of the Moroccan tradition. I never strived to be the center of attention or a public figure as an artist, I just wanted to perform and create. It has such a healing affect on my spirit and is my way of connecting and communicating with people. When I perform, I feel totally in sync with myself.” Read more about her journey here.
