She may have dedicated plenty of time to sightseeing while in North Africa, but Halle Berry is also spending hours keeping in shape for her new movie. The American actor, who is currently filming the third installment of the John Wick film series in Morocco, has given her 3.8 million Instagram followers an inside glimpse of the film as she shared snippets from the set this week.
The 52-year-old star will play Sofia, an ally assassin of the titular character brought to life by Keanu Reeves, in the film, which is due to be released next spring. And, judging by a video shared by Berry on Friday, her role is full of high-intensity action. In the clip, the Catwoman star is seen stretching, performing push-ups, and running through high-octane fight scenes on set. “Eternally grateful to the drive, warmth and camaraderie of the #JohnWick3 team! Can’t even begin to explain how much fun I’m having,” the actor captioned the video.
For filming, Berry is believed to be staying in the coastal city of Essaouira, where she appears to have been enjoying the sights between takes. “One with the locals,” Berry captioned one mesmerizing Instagram shot, in which she cradles a cat wearing a multi-hued Zara dress and knotted lilac turban. With the pebbled street and whitewashed walls proving the perfect backdrop, the actor makes a breathtaking subject in the intimate, moving portrait.
The star also took a ride on a local camel, with the moment captured for her followers as she soaked up the moment, barefoot in a loose, cream blouse. “I’m free here, I’m me here,” the actor captioned the image. Academy Award winner Berry also stopped by a souk, where she took a snapshot of intricate wooden hamsas.
According to local radio station Yabiladi, John Wick 3: Parabellum will be filming in Morocco until the end of November, with shoots also set to take place in locations such as Casablanca, Marrakech, and Merzouga.
