For the iconic and first September issue of Vogue Arabia, the legendary Karl Lagerfeld photographed cover star Bella Hadid in his Paris studio. In the October issue, the magazine had not one but four stars take to the cover of Vogue Arabia. As editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut describes in his letter for the issue, “Kenza FouratiHanaa ben AbdesslemFarida Khelfa, and Afef Jnifen are not just any women. They are icons, game changers, and – above all – incredible ambassadors of Arabia in the capitals of fashion.” Fast forward to November where Greg Kadel photographs Rihanna in a fashion shoot homage to Queen Nefertiti, styled by Anya Ziourova. Read more about the November issue here. The Vogue Arabia cover girl hall of fame is loaded will A-list names that stand for diversity and universal beauty.

Bella Hadid follows in the footsteps of her older sister, Gigi, who launched Vogue Arabia in March 2017 as cover star. Inez & Vinoodh photographed Gigi Hadid as you’ve never seen her before, in a two-part Arabic and English cover for the debut issue. This was followed by Imaan Hammam’s striking profile – captured by Patrick Demarchelier – for the April Power issue. May’s cover star, Indian supermodel Pooja Mor, followed suit, photographed by Ben Hassett and styled by Amma Trevelyan. For the Holy Month of Ramadan, the runway’s first hijab-wearing model, Halima Aden, featured on the June issue cover.

Aden passed that baton to Jourdan Dunn, who had a red carpet run wearing Arab designers at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. The runway-favorite model was photographed by Cüneyt Akeroğlu in Istanbul, wearing regional designers and statement styles from the major fashion maisons.

Halima Aden, photographed by Greg Kadel and styled by Paul Cavaco, is the face of the June issue. Click through the gallery above to see Vogue Arabia’s story in covers, with the latest September issue cover included.

Gigi Hadid’s fashion fairy tale can be told in her scores of Vogue covers, from The Netherlands to Japan and, of course, the debut issue of Vogue Arabia, styled by Brandon Maxwell. See her Vogue covers so far:

No stranger to gracing the cover of Vogue, model Imaan Hammam has fronted the British, Chinese, American, and now Arabian edition of the magazine. For the April issue, Hammam – who has Moroccan heritage – showcased the Spring 2017 ready-to-wear collections. A regular hero on the international runways, the model has walked for Fendi, Moschino, and Balmain, to name but a few.
